Is Katherine in E/R after 1964? If so is she not with Robert?

Any sign of a death for Katherine?

Researching a pub

I have been researching one of our local pubs where i live. Its been really interesting. All the different proprietors over time and all the goings on that comes with pubs.

One of the first proprietors [1874] i have been able to find is a man by the name of ......
Ah Chop eek) Obviously chinese. Then a fella by the name of Dittman, [1890's] tracked him a little and it appears he was German.
Also a woman who was a boarder at the pub [1889], had a argument with her lover and tried committing suicide
by consuming " rough on rats" She luckily survived.

Wonder what i will find tomorrow

When I first started this in 2003, I started using Myheritage, but now I am coming back to it, I am finding it really complicated and faffy and I dont like it. I would like to maybe look at another one, but I have over 200 names in Myheritage, so dont want to have to retype everything again. Any suggestions (especially if I can somehow import the information in) or should I stick with Myheritage...

I do have an import/export gedcom option (what ever that is...) so does that mean I could import it into somewhere like Ancestry??

Looking for Heaven family in Uley, Glos

Can anyone find any Heaven family in Uley or nearby in 1841

I'm trying to match up a William Heaven with Joseph Heaven.

My actual ancestor James Heaven, born 1824 (and later marrying Ann Elizabeth Cook, had parents called William & Elizabeth and I understand William was living in Staunton in 1851.

In the 1851 Census, James Heaven was in Staunton Nr. Ledbury, Gloucester, James Heaven is shown as Head, unmarried aged 27 Labourer, born Uley, Gloucester.

No further details of William Heaven & Elizabeth.

In the Robson's Commerce Directory of 1837 shows HEAVEN Joseph, The Boot, Silver St I presume this is Uley.

Hi to everyone out here! I have just joined this site in hopes of finding more about my great great grandparents and more about where they came from which will, I hope turn into a trip back to Scotland to see for myself where they came from.
I am at a roadblock once my research got back to Scotland, as records are more difficult for me to find there. If anyone out here can help I would be much appreciative!

James Kennedy and Margaret Martin Walker Kennedy married in Old Monkland Parrish in 1851/52? James was a puddler at Calderbank Works. I believe they left Scotland in 1868 on the Arcadia bound for the US.
I have different census info for Margaret's birth but family record shows 1831-11-22 and James was born in Ireland and I don't know when he went to Scotland.
Happy to be here and hope to find some clues :)

Hello,

PATERSON, JOHN
Marriage/Relationship:1873 - HOBART,Tasmania ( WOOLDRIDGE, HELEN )

Children:
246564 PATERSON WALTER WILLIAM 1874
246562 PATERSON MAY 1876
246560 PATERSON MARTHA 1879
246558 PATERSON TASMAN 1881
246561 PATERSON ANNIE 1883
246559 PATERSON JOHN 1885
246563 PATERSON DONALD 1890

That does not necessarily mean they married in 1873 or that the marriage was in Tasmania.

There are 3x John PATERSON born in Tasmania 1877-1893 so I'm trying to find the right one to fit this marriage:

The Sydney Morning Herald - Saturday 20 November 1920
MARRIAGES
PATERSON - STIMSON.-October 9, at Church of Christ City Temple, Sydney, by A. T. Eaton, John, third son of late J. Paterson and Mrs. Paterson, of Hobart Tas., to Doris, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Stimson, of Clifton Gardens, Mosman. Hobart papers please copy.

The other two have parents as Andrew & Sarah Jane BEVERIDGE and Frederick John & Martha SKINNER.

1922, 1928 & 1936 TAS Electoral Roll - Denison - New Town
PATERSON John, 59 Cross st., engineer
PATERSON Doris Pearl, 59 Cross st., home duties

1943, 1949 & 1954 TAS Electoral Roll - Franklin - Nelson
PATERSON John, 514 Sandy Bay rd., engineer
PATERSON Doris Pearl, 514 Sandy Bay rd., home duties

After 1954 ???

Hello,

1928 VIC Electoral Roll - Gippsland - Drouin
HAMILTON John Campbell, Drouin South, independent means
HAMILTON Elizabeth, Drouin South, home duties

That's all folks.

This one is in my tree and it seems he didn't marry:

1924, 1928, 1931, 1934 & 1936 VIC Electoral Roll - Gippsland - Drouin
HAMILTON James, Longwarry, carrier

He had a brother John b. 1865 Gordon Vic. who may have married.

Sisters of my John & James married CAMPBELL brothers, hence my interest in the one in the 1928 E/R with the middle name Campbell.

The surname looks like James on the image which would be correct but has been transcribed as Jones. Also Elizabeth and Henry Noya should be Noyes, they are listed as the next abode , Henrys occupation was book maker, though not to sure is the image is book/boot M.

Many thanks

born 1816 Bloomsbury Middlesex. The only census I cant find Henry on is 1851. Henry is in Islington in 1861 and died Islington in 1866. I've tried everything, leaving surname off, year of birth and place of birth.
